Personal Care Assistant (PCA) - Part Time

Business and education leadership authority is seeking a part-time Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to support a 26-year-old individual with cerebral palsy in Virginia Beach, VA. This role focuses on assisting with activities of daily living and supporting community participation, including school-related and lead event activities.

Success in this role looks like providing respectful, reliable assistance that promotes independence, safety, and a positive day-to-day experience—while being punctual and dependable with transportation needs.

• Assist with activities of daily living, including dressing and personal care tasks.
• Support bathing and hygiene routines while maintaining dignity and comfort.
• Help with feeding and meal support as needed.
• Provide support with mobility and safe transportation to work using transportation provided.
• Support the individual’s participation in school, lead events, and related activities.
• Accompany the client during outings with friends and social activities.
• Maintain a calm, respectful, and inclusive approach to caregiving and communication.
• Assist with day-to-day routines and readiness for scheduled activities.
• Follow any established preferences, routines, and safety guidelines.
• Communicate clearly and promptly about needs, changes, or concerns.

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be punctual and dependable.
• Ability to provide respectful, person-centered support.
• Experience or comfort assisting with personal care and daily living activities is preferred.
• Strong communication skills and an inclusive, supportive attitude.
• Ability to follow routines and prioritize safety in day-to-day support.
• Willingness to support community participation, including school and social activities.
